HKL GUI: Setting up the data sets

We will start our example run by setting up our data sets under the "Main" tab-page.

The image data files we are using in this example can be found on CD/ROM, so first we should go to /cdrom in the "Directory Tree". Click the / directory and descend to the directory with the data:

Now, in the main GUI window go to the block file information and select the button "Set Up Data Files". This will pop up a window with the file contents of the selected directory:

Select an image of the first set and click Open. Now the File information area has been updated:

This is the first set to be processed, so now in the "Set Controls" area you should click "Create/Add Set". This will add a block in the big gray top window.

For the second set, we have to proceed similarly. Press "Set Up Data Files" in the "File Information" area and select a file of the second set and click open. The choose "Create/Add Set" like before in the "Set Controls" area. If this has been done, the gray window will contain the two sets to be processed:

The three tick boxes : `Collect', `Denzo' and `Scale' indicate whether this set will be collected (so far not possible), "denzoed" i.e. whether the images will be processed, and/or scaled. In case images have been collected at different kappa settings it is not yet possible to process all in one go, so in that case the tick box for denzo should be ticked for one set only. The program can cope with any other change in axis, i.e. different Omega, Phi, Theta or DX. If you now press "Select" in the block of the first data set, the lower part of the large window will be filled with the data collection setup parameters:

All fields are now filled. Note that the yellow fields contain values that are equal to the default values.
