Dark current

A source of noise that builds up during the exposure. The effect is relativily small compared to the read out noise for short exposure times. For long exposures a dark current file can be used to correct for this effect.

Distortion

A small positional difference between the front and back positions of the optical fibers in the taper. Corrected for by a distortion table in the calibration file.

Initial.set

This file contains menu setting parameters of the KappaCCD Denzo-SMN GUI.
It must be loaded through the File menu when a new compound is used to initialize the menu parameters

Makesav

Makesav creates a *.sav file from a group of KappaCCD image files by analyzing all file headers.
The resulting *.sav file can be loaded in to the Denzo-SMN GUI so that all parameters are defined in accordance with the measured data sets.
(Earlier releases used makeset, which created a *.set file.)

Mkscalein

Mkscalein creates an input file for Scalepack from a group of Denzo *.x files by reading their contents.
The resulting file scale_all.in can be used to control Scalepack. This is usually done as:

scalepack < scale_all.in
