Using the Denzo-SMN software

Starting the Denzo-SMN program

Set your default directory to where you have collected your images. To start the Denzo-SMN software, enter kc at the shell prompt. At startup the program will retrieve the settings used in the previous run from a file called default.set.

The system will come up with the Denzo-SMN menu. The menu has pull-down menus and cards. The cards will guide you through the measurement in a logical sequence from left to right.
The pull-down menus are used for general setup and file handling of the program, and are rarely needed during the actual data processing.

Working on a new compound

When you start on a new compound you should load the calibrated start parameters by loading the Initial.set file. This is done using the pull-down menu <File><Load> .

Site card

The values displayed in the Site card are set during calibration. They are usually not changed, except for the De-zingering check box. Select the De-zingering option only when you have collected double-image exposures.
