KappaCCD Software Licenses
The KappaCCD comes with 3 major software packages, each requiring a license.
You can request license files to use a few different computers with your
KappaCCD system, as long as they are in the same building. Supported architectures
are SGI computers running IRIX V5.x and V6.x, and Intel PC's running selected
RedHat and Fedora Linux versions.
The 2000 release of HKL does not run under RedHat 7.3. To run under
this operating system, you will have to upgrade to the 2002 version.
-
maXus
-
To request a maXus license file you will need to fill
in a form of information about yourself and the computer. This can
be done even before maXus is installed on the system.
A maXus license file will expire after a few years; when it expires
you can request a new one.
If the Internet address (IP address) of a computer running maXus is
changed, a new maXus license file will be required.
The maXus license file is called maXus.license, and is stored
in the maXus lib directory (usually /usr/local/maxus/lib)
-
HKL
-
To request a HKL license file you will need to run the program "accessprod"
(for the 1998 version) or "accessprod2000" (for the 2000 version), which
asks some information about you and your institute, and acquires some information
about the computer by itself. Since the license file contents have changed
between the two versions, it is essential to use the version belonging
to the denzo version that you are installing. The "accessprod" programs
are part of the HKL program suite, so the suite needs to be installed before
a license file can be requested. The "info" file that is produced by "accessprod"
should be sent to the hkl.com address suggested by the "accessprod" program.
For the 1998 version of denzo: If the Internet address (IP address)
or the host name of a computer running HKL software is changed, a new HKL
license file will be required. For the 2000 version, which uses a completely
different license system, both a change of IP address or a change of ethernet
card will require you to request a new license file.
The HKL license file is called cr_info and can be stored either
in /usr/local/lib, in your home directory, or in the directory
where you are running the program. The license file looks like a single
very long line (1998 version) or multiple lines of about 64 characters
wide (2000 version) of gibberish.
-
collect
-
The latest available version of collect no longer requires a license file
to run. Bruker will not make new license files from now on. Please download
the latest version of collect from the software area in the KappaCCD
users pages.
-
evalccd
-
EvalCCD does not require its own license file.
Change to www.Brukersupport.com
December 2009:
We are happy to inform you that all information on updates as well as
the software updates for your MACH3, KappaCCD, and KappaCCD2000
has been uploaded to www.Brukersupport.com.
This includes packages such as: Argus, Express, Collect,
Collect
Powderize, Collect Incommensurate, and EvalCCD. All upgrade
and update packages will extract the license information from your currently
installed license file and continue working if you have a valid license
for the program right now. To enjoy the new download option you have to
register yourself. You might not have a serial number for entire system
at hand. No problem! We will approve your registration manually.
